The Bay Cities Racing Association will have at least a dozen entries in the 15th Chili Bowl Nationals, a huge midget event that will run from Thursday through Saturday in Tulsa, Okla.

But that's only half the story.

The other half is that BCRA and midget racing fans can watch the Chili Bowl Nationals on closed-circuit television. The five-hour telecast will begin at 4 p.m. Saturday at Jackson Hall at the Lodi Grape Festival & Harvest Fairgrounds.

The telecast will include live coverage of Saturday's finals, plus highlights and interviews from racing today and Friday.

Terry Tarditi of Lodi, who is in Tulsa but won't race, told BCRA publicist Floyd Busby there are about 185 entries, an all-time high for the Chili Bowl Nationals.

Entered are several BCRA racers, including John Sarale of Stockton, four-time BCRA champion Floyd Alvis of San Carlos, BCRA rookie of the year Shane Matthews and Thomas Meseraull, who has raced at Stockton 99 Speedway.

Tickets will be available at the gate for $25 and include an all-you-can-eat chili feed and a beverage.
