Witnesses and driver Takuma Koga of Japan, said while he was practicing Friday afternoon at Stockton 99 Speedway, after accelerating down the front straight going into turn 1 his front right tire blew sending him and the #09 Tecseed Chevrolet from the Grand National West Series into the formidable cement crash wall exploding in a ball of fire and black smoke. While Takuma was able to escape unharmed, the car was a total loss as the motor continued to run, feeding gas into the fire, and you can see the results in the pictures above.
