DESTRUCTION DERBY

AUGUST 12 2006

STOCKTON 99 SPEEDWAY

1. Open to any American made hardtop model stock car. NO full frame Imperials – unitized body Imperials ok. No trucks, commercial vehicles, limos, hearses or convertible allowed.

ALL CARS WILL BE INSPECTED BEFORE THE DERBY BY TRACK OFFICIALS. ALL CAR HOOD AND TRUNK AREAS WILL BE OPENED FOR INSPECTION. ALL WINNING CARS WILL BE RETECHED PRIOR TO LEAVING THE ARENA AREA, AFTER EACH EVENT AND BEFORE PURSE PAYOFF. NO PIT PERSON OR FAMILY MEMBERS ARE ALLOWED IN THE AREA DURING THE RETECH. ALL DRIVERS INSTRUCT YOUR CREW, IF DRIVERS HAVE NOT COMPILED WITH THE DERBY RULES AND/OR THE OFFICIALS TECH INSPECTION DECISIONS, THEY WILL BE SCORED DOWN OR DISQUALIFIED. NO ADDITIONAL WELDING WILL BHE ALLOWED ON ANY VEHICLE AFTER THE TECH INSPECTION.

All glass all chrome (including headlight and taillight chrome rings), grills, clearance lights roof racks, door handles and all flammable materials must be removed before brining the vehicle into the speedway facility. THE SIDE WINDOWS CANNOT BE ROLLED DOWN, MUST BE REMOVED. THE DERBY CAR WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO ENTER THE PIT AREA UNTIL IT IS COMPLETED.

Doors must be chained or welded shut securely. Welds cannot exceed (1) foot outside top, bottom and sides of any door. NO WELDING ON STATION WAGON TAILGATES. All chains on vehicle must be a minimum ¼" chain or a maximum ½" chain. NO chain to exceed (3) feet anywhere on the vehicle.

Safety bar may be welded or bolted behind front seat from side to side and inside the driver and passenger doors. SAFETY BAR AND CROSSBAR BRACING CANNOT EXCEED 6" IN DIAMETER. Side bracing cannot exceed from front windshield post to 18" behind driver’s seat. NO OTHER BRACING ALLOWED.

Trunk lids may be chained, bolted or use #8 wire: two wraps only. Maximum bolt 1" in diameter – maximum washer 3" in diameter, all washers no more than 1/4 "thick. Only (2) bolts allowed on trunk. Maximum (4) chains. Bolts cannot be welded to frame.

Hoods; chains or use #9 wire, 2 wraps only. May use 4 hood bolts, NO J-Bolts to frame. No bolts welded to frame, CHAINS FROM FRAME TO HOOD is OK. Maximum (4) chains. Must have a 6" x 6" hole in the hood for safety in case of fire. CHAINS OR ETC, FROM FRAME TO HOOD. Maximum (4) chains.

Vertical bars are MANDATORY in windshield opening in front of driver. Minimum (1) bar, Maximum (3) bars.

Bumpers must be *OEM. Stock brackets only may be welded to bumper and frame. No braces welded or added to bumper. Bumper cannot be welded to body or to frame. Must use shock mounts. NO INTER BUMBER BRACKETS MAY BE WELDED TO FRONT BUMBER, MANDATORY TO HAVE CHIN AROUND FRONT AND BACK BUMBER OR 6" PIECE OF CHAIN MAY BE WELDED TO BUMBER TO FRAME. Bumper tips and fender wells can be trimmed. NO BOLTING WHEEL WELLS, NO REINFORCING WITH ADDED METALStock type bumper may be collapsed and welded. OFFICIALS DECISION FINAL.

No chains or U-bolts allowed around body to frame on any car. If chain is needed after a heat race for repairs, must be Okayed by the officials.

NO RAISING OR LOWEREING OF CAR. Cars must be in stock position. Bumper height will be measured by officials and must be within factory specs. MAXIMUM CROWN HEIGHT OF BUMPER (22 1/2) INCHES. No coil to leaf conversions. ONLY stock automobile springs NO extra leafs. NO tape. NO WELDING ON SPRINGS. OEM SHACKLES ONLY. ONLY PREVIOUSLY RAN DERBY CARS with broken springs or shackles, can be repaired and supported by chain around or through frame with (2) bolts. NO WELDING.

No trailer hitches. No objects protruding outside the car.

Gas tanks must be a safe container and made of steel, example: jeep can, boat tank and be approved by the officials. Gas tanks must be securely placed and must be bolted or chained solid. Tanks must be capped and placed directly behind the driver; stock gas tanks CANNOT BE USED & MUST BE REMOVED from the car. (1) Kicker bar from the rear cross bar to the frame – Next to the gas tank must be added. MANDATORY for tank protection. NO electrical or pressure type fuel systems. Exception: because of newer model cars equipped with fuel injection systems that have to run with electrical fuel pumps, an electrical kill switch must be added and placed where an official can turn it off. GAS ONLY. NO ALCOHOL.

Batteries should be moved to the inside of the car and covered with old inner tube to protect the driver. It must be bolted in solid. No restriction on battery size. NO wooden boxes, plastic milk crates or plastic boat battery boxes. Angle iron frame is best.

Radiator must be stock automobile and in original stock position. NO ADDITIONAL RADIATROR SUPPORTS OR MOUNTS ONLY WIRE OR PLASTIC TIES MAY BE ADDED. Heater hoses must be roped or disconnected.

Firewall must be stock with no large holes. Any holes cut must be covered with sheet metal or rubber.

NO three quarter ton rear ends or above. Housing perch may be welded.

Safety belts required. Seat belts must be buckled during the entire time of event. (exception – fire)

Approved safety helmets are required and must stay on during the time of the entire length of event.

Body to frame hardware and bushings must be OEM stock. Frames must be OEM condition on any/all vehicles. NO WELDING ON FRAMES SEAMS.

No welding or bolting A-Frame to Frame. NO tie-rod stiffeners.

Must remove inside spare tire compartment lid and all seats, except front seat station wagons.

REGULAR TIRES MUST BE USED. NO HEAVY DUTY MUD & SNOW GRIPS (some M/S marked tires may be used, but must be approved by the officials). NO GROOVED OR DOUBLE TIRES. Tires not to exceed 6-ply C-rated (rating must show on tire). 7.00 x 15. NO CEMENT OR FLUIDS IN TIRES. Remove wheel weights. NO stem guards.

Car numbers must be 18" in height and painted on both sides of the car. USE A CONTRASTING PAINT FROM COLOR OF CAR. (Example: black car - used white paint), so visible and readable to the officials and the announcer. Square Number Plate must be installed on the roof of the car with your number on it so your car can be scored easier.

ALL CARS MUST HAVE A HOSE ATTACHED TO THE TRASMISSION FILLER TUBE NICKNAMED: BURP TUBE) FOR FIRE SAFETY.

A vehicle discharging heavy smoke after an event has started may be disqualified by at the official’s discretion.

There is a TWO MINUTE RULE. If you don’t move or hit within (2) minutes, you will be disqualified.

All cars Must Tech To the 2006 Rules – Previously Ran Car Included. *OEM Means: Original Equipment of Manufacturer.

VEHICLE OPTIONS

Floor shift.

Locked rear ends.

Radiator Fans.

Springs may have (2) clamps per side, ¼" in thickness and not over 1 ½" in width. (2) Bolts per clamp. Cannot exceed the thickness and width stated.

Hand throttle.

Engine make.

Transmission coolers. Must be covered and inside of car.

(1) Only 0 A/C radiator.

Drivers should wear c\gloves, long sleeve shirts, and helmets.

If dashboard is removed, side to side brace allowed in dash position.

Driver’s door (only) may have a solid metal plate on the inside - safety.

Mud Screen allowed.

Motor mounts may be welded or chained. ¼" x 2 Flat bar or angle iron bolted to head or block and welded straight to frame. Front Kicker may be added Front Safety Bar to Rear of Spring Tower of where Spring Tower would be on Unibody car (DON’T OVER DO THEM OR YOU WILL BE ASKED TO REMOVE THEM).

Bumpers may be replaced, but must use same as OEM braces for that bumper.

15. On cars with sub-frames, okay to weld 1/4" x 2" x 2" flat bar from sub-frame at each rubber mount.

16. OFFICIALS DECISIONS ARE FINAL
