Thursday, April 12, 2001 11:02 AM Suggestions for Promotion
While at "The Bullring" at Vegas, we noticed some cool things that were done there for promotion. But one of the coolest things they did was have all of the drivers of the Winston West race come down into the grass area and sit at a table and give and autograph session, before the race. Why couldn't 99 pick out a few of the drivers each week and have them give an autograph session before the race like that? Give the fans the ability to sit and talk with the drivers, was a really great chance to meet some great drivers, but more than that meet some great people. Before the race is sometimes better because there is no cars needing to be loaded up, no race altercations that may have influenced the drivers frame of mind.

Just a thought...

Pure Stock
First, let me state as a driver, that I think the officials are doing a great job at enforcing the rules this year and getting the pure stock division back to "Pure Stock". I hope that they continue enforcing them. In regard to the yellow truck #89??? How is this truck considered a 'pure stock' vehicle? The front suspension is not stock or in stock position. Nor is this vehicle close to stock height. I have nothing against a truck in pure stock as long as it complies with the same rules. This is an obvious noncompliance with the rules. If they are able to disregard the rules in this manner shouldn't we all be entitled to run adjustable front suspensions? It is the same thing. RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!

re:Pace Car
I would like to submit our car as a possible pace car for a race at the track. We have a 2000 Monte Carlo Limited Edition Pace Car, the license place reads "3ERN(heart symbol)8". The car is #1701 of #2222 that were made. Needless to say we are big racing fans and for our car to be on the track doing what it was made to do would be great. If you have any questions or need any more information, please e-mail or call us. Thanks, Don & Marti Silva (209) 723-5520, Marti's work (209) 725-2262, Don's Cell (209) 761-7997.

Sorry Charley,
the grounds and pits get too wet and muddy. The Pro's and GAM's are now on slicks , and really would have problems  with any moisture.

We'll see you next Sat. Night!!!!

Will you guys be posting your purse schedule for the late models this Season? How come you cannot post directly to the Guest Book? You can filter out bad words and derrogatory stuff. Is requesting the purse be posted bad?

Information is posted as it's recieved. As for your other questions, I think you answered them. Good luck to you this year.

I went to stockton 99 last season and i enjoyed it so much that i am definately going to continue to go. i went to the races last saturday for the grand opening and realized that the ticket prices had gone up a lot. was that just for the opening day, will they return to the original $12? also, do you have an option for a season pass, if not, i think it would be a really good idea as a lot of people love your track but find it to be to costly throughout the season. i also wanted to thank-you, as a huge dale earnhardt fan, for you beautiful tribute to him, it brought tears to my eyes. thank-you for taking your time to read my questions.

Sincerely, Siobhan Tyler

gravel
I know i'ts a tall request, but if we are running slicks, it is imperative that the gravel be removed from the grand am pits. At the cost of tires, it won't take long to discourage drivers . I know it's not your call, but please pass on the message. Thanks in advance for the courtesy....
Gino, There's alot of work scheduled that has been held up because of paperwork. As soon as it's resolved, we'll complete what's planned. Thanks for the comment.

Pit rules
I plan on participating in your event on opening day. (Midgets) I will be coming from the Tacoma, Wa area. I have a 14 year old son who is my main pit crew. My question is will he be allowed in the pit area to help me. Also will the Midgets be in a area of the pits that they will be able to work out of our trailers.

Thanks, Tom
REPLY:>>>IF YOUR SANCTIONING BODY ALLOWS MEMBERS OF THAT AGE, THEN NATURALLY ALL OF THE PROPER RELEASES MUST BE SIGNED, NORMALLY 99 SPEEDWAY DOES NOT ALLOW ANYONE UNDER 16 IN THE PITS, BUT WITH AN EVENT SUCH AS OPENING DAY, THIS ONE WILL HAVE TO GO TO THE TOP FOR AN ANSWER. AS FOR PITTING....EVERYONE MUST UNLOAD AND PARK THEIR TRAILERS AND HAULERS IN THE DESIGNATED AREA. WE ONLY HAVE 9 PIT AREAS THAT CAN ACCOMODATE INCLOSED HAULERS, BUT FOR OPENING DAY, THAT REAL ESTATE MAY HAVE TO BE USED FOR EXTRA PIT SPACE. WE HAVE A SET FORMAT FOR SUCH AN EVENT ON THAT DAY...AND SO FAR IT HAS WORKED WELL. THE LATE MODEL SPORTSMEN WILL PIT IN THEIR DESIGNATED AREA....USAC AND BCRA WILL USE THE GRAND AMERICAN MODIFIED PIT AREA....GRAND AMERICAN MODIFIEDS WILL USE THE TRAILER PARKING AREA (& WILL BE ALLOWED TO PIT OUT OF THEIR TRAILERS)....AND PRO-STOCKS AND PURE STOCKS GET THE INFIELD....NOT EVERYONE IS HAPPY ABOUT IT....BUT IF WE ALL WORK TOGETHER...WE'LL GET THROUGH IT TOGETHER.

Stockton is holding a test session on March 24th. I will be running a Babygrand Stockcar this year and was wondering if myself and other Babygrand drivers can participate in the practice. How much will the session cost. I also left a voice message with the track manager. I'm not sure which is the best to contact the track. Thanks,  Brian Carter
Answer: THE 24TH TEST SESSION, AS YOU REFER TO IS THE FIRST OF TWO PRE- SEASON PLAYDAYS. THESE PLAYDAYS ARE DESIGNATED FOR CAR TECH AND MEMBERSHIP APPLICATIONS. YOUR BABY GRAND DIVISION IS ON OUR SCHEDULE APPROX. 7 TIMES..SO I SEE NO PROBLEM WITH YOU PRACTICING ON THE 24TH AND 31ST. I THINK YOUR PIT FEES ARE $30. PER, FOR NON-MEMBER. AND $25. FOR MEMBERS. NASCAR APP.'S ARE AVAILABLE BOTH DAYS.

RESPONSE TO HUNT2BLUE
YOUR QUESTION ABOUT 3 DIFFERENT DRIVERS PILOTING THE CAR AND THE PROBLEMS INVOLVED...IT CAN BE DONE, BUT MOST OF YOUR PROBLEMS WILL BE IN-HOUSE, I.E. IF DRIVER #1 WRECKS THE CAR...WHO GETS TO FIX IT FOR DRIVER #2...AND WILL THERE BE ANYTHING LEFT FOR DRIVER #3 WHEN HIS TURN COMES....ETC. AS FOR THE TRACK....NOT A PROBLEM...WE SCORE NUMBERS...IT'S UP TO THE TEAM TO LET US KNOW WHO'S BEHIND THE WHEEL THAT NIGHT, TO ENSURE THE CORRECT DRIVER GETS HIS POINTS. ANOTHER THOUGHT...IF ONE OF THE DRIVERS IS UNDER PROBATION OR SUSPENSION OR NOT QUALIFIED TO DRIVE FOR THAT NIGHT AND YOU TRY TO SLIP HIM IN...OH NO-NO-NO-NO-NOOOOO SHAME ON YOU...GET OUT YOUR WALLET, CAUSE IT'S GONNA COST YA. KEEPING TRACK OF THE POINTS IS THE CHALLANGE IN MOST CASES OF THIS NATURE.
