STOCKTON -- Pete Anderson Jr. doesn't plan to do anything different on Saturday despite the fact it's double-points night at Stockton 99 Speedway. He figures he's done pretty well so far this seasons and there's no reason to change.

Anderson is second in the points standings going into the show, racing program, which begins at 6 p.m. There will be double points available in all divisions, and drivers will be able to move up in a hurry. Or drop just as quickly.

"It's double points, but I just treat it the same as always," Anderson said. "I don't look at them any differently than any other race, and just do the best I can."

Anderson won the season-opening main event and has finished in the top five in each of the three main events this season. He trails points leader John Moore of Granite Bay 156-146.

SIX DIVISION SHOW OF MORE THAN 175-LAPS OF MAIN EVENT RACING
2004 WLM CHAMP BYRD RETURNING BEHIND WHEEL
OF MILLER MOTORSPORTS WLM DODGE

STOCKTON -- Get ready for a blast from the past! 2004 HAVOLINE Western Late Model Champ Dave Byrd will return to Stockton 99 Speedway Saturday, May 7 for 30- laps of WLM main event racing behind the wheel of the Miller Motorsports late model Dodge Intrepid.

Miller Motorsports’ Ray Miller confirmed Tuesday that Byrd would be on the track Friday for some testing, and that if everything goes smoothly, Saturday he would be competing in the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series Western Late Model 30-lap main event. Miller said that the team is also expected to field the car with Byrd behind the wheel during the prestigious WLM Tri-Holiday Series at Stockton 99 Speedway.

Saturday could mark the first time that Stockton 99 Speedway, NASCAR’s only paved quarter-mile oval west of the Mississippi, has pitted two late model Dodge’s on the same track. Also expected to compete is Turlock’s Chris Monez in the Stockton Dodge Intrepid.

Fans of Stockton 99 Speedway know that neither #11, Monez nor Byrd will have an easy time of things. Both will be competing against WLM points leader Gary Shafer Jr. of Stockton, Granite Bay’s John Moore, who swept the division earlier this season, Stockton’s Pete Anderson Jr., who took the checkered flag in the 100-lap season opener and NASCAR Diversity driver Allison Duncan, who has earned a top 10 and top 5 finish in her first two races at the track.

Also running Saturday night are the always exciting Pro-4 Trucks. Current record holder Ron Robeck, #3, of Milpitas is expected back, as is Campbell’s Chris Drysdale in the Miller Motorsports mini. Giving both a run for the finish line will be the other top five points holders, French Camp’s Mark Henslee, Lodi’s Mike Curry and Ripon’s Tim Fernandes Sr.

CL BRYANT American Limited Stock Cars enthusiasts won’t want to miss the action! Last week’s main winner #15, Charlie Clawson, of Modesto, will be on the track, as will current record holder Johnny Cardoza of Manteca.

Grand American Modified front runner Sam Solari of Salida and Citrus Heights’ Jay Linstroth should put on quite a battle. In the early season 50-lap main Solari took the checkered flag, but that was only after the quick Linstroth had to check out due to engine trouble.

Also on the track will be the young competitors of the California Mini Racing Association in their Mini Cup cars.
