S R L and New Bakersfield Track Form Alliance

Wilton, CA – Today it was announced that the S R L Wild West Late Model Series has formed an alliance with the new high-banked half-mile in Bakersfield.

“The Collins Family has assured us that the S R L Series will have full schedule of race dates in 2008, and are willing to schedule as many races as necessary at their new facility.” stated S R L Director, Steve Fensler.

Not only will the Collins Family and the new Bakersfield raceway host the S R L Series in 2008, they will also take an active role in building the series to what was once the glory days of ‘tour car racing in the west.

“We hosted a lot of ‘tour car’ events over the years, and we see an association with the S R L as the right step to bring tour racing back to be the most popular form of stock car racing in our region,”  stated Mesa Marin Raceway founder Marion Collins.

“We look forward to working with the tracks and the teams to make the S R L  series something that everyone will be proud to be part of, now and well into the future,” added Larry Collins, president of the new raceway in Bakersfield.

“We have tremendous respect for Steve Fensler, and look forward to working with him in every aspect to support the series.”  Larry Collins concluded.
